Appointments
We need your help...
During the last six months a total of 1240 patients failed to keep their appointments. That equates to just
over 250 hours of wasted doctor and nurse time. This is time that could have given others the opportunity to see
a doctor earlier.
Please help us to help you by telephoning us if you cannot keep an appointment. You will help us reduce the
waiting times
We offer both routine telephone and surgery appointments which can be booked in advance.
Routine Appointments
A routine appointment is for 10 MINUTES, which is enough time to discuss 1-2 problems. Please try to ensure you arrive in good time for your appointment.
If you do arrive late, you may be offered another appointment so as not to delay those waiting to see the doctor for that surgery.
Daily Surgery
Doctor’s appointments are available from 8.30am to 11.30am. Some of these appointments are pre-bookable (please phone after
10am to book these) and some are bookable on the day only, for urgent issues.
Doctor’s appointments are available from 3.00pm to 6.00pm. Some of these appointments are pre-bookable (please phone after
10am to book these) and some are bookable on the day only, for urgent issues.

Please remember to cancel any unwanted appointments or advise us if you are unavoidably delayed.

It is now possible to book routine appointments online up to 2 weeks in advance. Please see reception to register to use this
facility, or if you have already registered click

Medically Urgent
If you are acutely unwell we can see you on the same day, though it may be with a duty doctor. If you are well enough
to attend work, we do not consider it medically urgent. We are not an emergency service so you should call 999 for
emergencies.
If you have any questions, please contact the practice, either by telephone or in person at the surgery.
We are continually reviewing our appointments system to try and ensure that we deliver the best service possible.
If you have problems making an appointment to suit you please let us know.
Extended hours surgeries
Late Evening Surgery
GP appointments are available once weekly from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, on alternating Monday
and Wednesday evenings. Appointments must be booked in advance.
Saturday Surgery
GP appointments are available once a month from 8.30am to 11.00am. Appointments must be booked in advance.
Early Morning Surgery
GP appointments are available on a Wednesday from 7:30am.
Please note: If you do not attend an evening surgery appointment or a Saturday morning appointment without cancelling, or a valid reason,
it will not be possible for you to book a late evening or Saturday appointment again.
It is not a walk-in surgery. For URGENT medical problems please contact
NHS Direct or
Frimley Primary Care Service for advice
Reception is open as normal during these times.
These are routine appointments, which can be booked in advance: NO EMERGENCIES!
Telephone Appointments
We offer patients the opportunity to have a booked telephone consultation with their doctor as an
alternative to coming to the surgery.
Things that are appropriate for a telephone appointment are:
If your doctor has no telephone appointments left for that day, you can ask for one the following day if
the matter can wait, or if it is considered URGENT , the receptionist will ask the DUTY DOCTOR for that
day to call you back.
Please provide an accurate contact number as the doctor or nurse will only call once, usually after morning surgery but before 1pm.
Nurse Practitioner & Same Day Appointments
You may now be aware that we have two nurse practitioners working with us at the surgery:
Roma Partington and
Janet Amero. Any patient wishing to see a
doctor on a same day basis may be telephoned by the Nurse Practitioner to discuss the problem. Our Nurse Practitioners are fully qualified to deal
with minor illnesses and chronic conditions and are able to prescribe if appropriate.
For a wide range of medical conditions it is not always necessary to see a doctor as many can be managed at home with medical advice. If the nurses feel
the problem is something they can help with for minor illness complaints or they feel you need to see the doctor, we will make the necessary arrangements
with you on the phone.
Practice Nurses
Are available daily by appointment for blood tests, immunisations, dressings, BP checks and general advice. Longer appointments exist for cervical
smears, ECG, asthma, diabetes and travel advice.
District Nurses
Are responsible for community nursing and can be contacted on: 01252 335670
Community Psychiatric nurses
Have training and experience in mental health problems. If you require the specialist help of a CPN you will be referred by your doctor.
Home Visits
These are made only when the patient is too unwell to travel to the surgery. All requests for home visits are assessed by the
doctors and the decision to visit is at their discretion.
We ask you to come to the surgery, both because home visits are time consuming and we have better facilities for examining and
treating you in the surgery.
3 TO 5 patients can be seen at the
surgery in the time taken to do a house call.
We appreciate your efforts in attending the surgery where possible.
We are unable to offer visits for those who have no immediate transport. Transport must remain the patient’s responsibility. Requests for home
visits must be made before 11am.
Test Results
You will only be contacted by letter or telephone if further action is needed for abnormal results. This will require you to make either
an telephone or routine appointment with your doctor for further discussion. Please only phone for results if the doctor specifically asks
you to do so.

NHS certificates will not be given out for illness periods under one week.
If your employer insists on documentation, there is a standard letter that you can collect from Reception. The Doctor is able to issue a Private Certificate.
